Traqgear continues to expand its line of fireproof underwear with the addition of a white Super Pro Lite shirt.
This is a great option for the driver that doesn't want to run a Coolshirt and needs a light weight, fire resistant base layer.
I've been wanting one of these for a while, but have held off for a number of reasons.
Firstly, I wear the Coolshirt version 95% of the time. When Brian, my race engineer, asks if I want the Coolbox filled my response is always - is it over 50 degrees out?
Secondly, all of the prototypes I tried on were massive. I also wanted a lighter color for additional heat dissipation.
When this new white version was released, I liquidated the last of my holiday gift cards.
It is made of the same silky material as the traditional black Super Pro lite. To achieve the white color the fibers are chemically bleached. The seams are as soft and comfortable as the orignial.
I purchased a size small and the fit is exact. The material doesn't stretch much, so if there is a question of sizing I would err on the side of larger.
The only reservation I have is about this garment is durability. The first pair of long pants I tried tore from the friction in the seat after just a few sessions. Roger graciously replaced them and assures me the current version is ready for prime time.
I'm going to put it through its paces next weekend at Sebring and report back.
